# Co-worker Internationalization / EU-Project Management (m/f/d) in Jena At the Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology ([Leibniz IPHT](https://www.leibniz-ipht.de/en/homepage/)) we are looking in the Department Internationalization for a full-time or part-time position (at least 25h/week) for a # Co-worker Internationalization / EU-Project Management (m/f/d) The position is to be filled from May 15, 2025 and is initially limited to a period of 2 years. An extension will be sought if suitable. The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the [Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena](https://www.uni-jena.de/en) and member of the [Leibniz association](https://www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de/en/). ## Job description The Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz IPHT) strives to be a global leader in the development of photonic technologies that allow us to live safer, healthier and more sustainable lives. We do research addressing societal challenges in the fields of health, medicine, environment, energy and security. The institute is a member of the Leibniz Association and a non-university, internationally active research institution with around 450 employees from more than 38 countries with close ties to the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The importance of EU third-party funding for Leibniz IPHT is continuously increasing and local expertise plays a key role in the preparation and implementation of European-funded research projects. The Internationalization Unit supports these processes. It is responsible for advising on applications and the financial processing of all projects funded by foreign and international donors. Horizon (over 30 projects acquired, 9 of which are coordinated by Leibniz IPHT) is the most popular funding program in our portfolio. As an EU project manager, you will be able to implement projects from initiation and application to implementation and completion, and to support Leibniz IPHT staff accordingly. ## Your field of activity includes: - Support to Leibniz IPHT employees with EU research project applications, including writing text modules and proofreading applications, submission, budget calculation, communication with project partners, if necessary, - Consultancy to Leibniz IPHT employees on possible funding programs, - Support in the management and execution of EU projects regarding financial and administrative aspects, - Preparation and forwarding of information on current EU and international funding programs, - Support project leaders of organizational tasks and project controlling tasks (including financial and material resource management such as management of EU grants, monitoring of funds, etc.), - Support with internal and external project documentation (including interim and utilization reports), - Support for the audit-proof implementation and accounting of projects, working with project data bases and project software - Close cooperation and coordination with the administration and various departments of the institute. ## Your qualification: - Completed vocational training or university degree (Bachelor or FH degree) or comparable knowledge with several years of professional experience, preferably with knowledge of the acquisition of EU funding and knowledge of EU funding programs ## Desired knowledge and skills: - Experience and knowledge of third-party funding acquisition and EU funding advice - Experience and knowledge of EU project management and the modalities for financial implementation - Overview of the European and international funding landscape - Affinity for administration and commercial knowledge - Service orientation, independent and structured way of working, ability to work in a team, social skills - High level of conceptual competence and solution-oriented thinking - Sensitivity in advising and addressing different target groups and cultural groups - Enjoy interaction with international staff and scientists - IT affinity in using common software applications (MS Office, TEAMS, Zoom etc.) - Very good written and spoken German and English language skills - Willingness to undertake business trips and continuous training ## We offer: - An open welcoming culture and an inclusive and interdisciplinary working environment: Located on the Beutenberg campus in Jena, Leibniz IPHT is home to more than 400 employees from around the world working at the interface of physics, biochemistry, technology, data science and medicine to develop the photonic technologies of tomorrow. - World-class equipment and facilities: Leibniz IPHT has a large number of physics, chemistry and biology laboratories at the highest level.
