IT RDM Biological Sample Production and Management is a global IT team that is responsible to develop, support and manage IT solutions for biological research and development for human and animal health globally. This team collaborates with research scientists, IT experts, and external vendors to improve and enhance business processes and efficiency of R&D activities.

Your tasks:

• Provide IT consultancy and operational support to research scientists globally, with focus on supporting three business units in Switzerland
• Take over a role as system analyst or system engineer for IT solutions including system configuration, design and development
• Develop and maintain productive and constructive rapport with key business contacts
• Actively collaborate with IT service teams, research units, and external vendors for stable support and maintenance of our IT system landscape
• Analysis, interpretation, identifying trends and addressing corrective actions to the management
• Design, architecture and implementation of IT services, IT systems or IT components following the defined BI process framework of complex systems and software in the own area
• Leading and participation in global product/project teams
• Provide maintenance, optimization, innovation and 3rd level support for implemented and/or assigned solutions
• Troubleshooting system problems that have been escalated
• System Lead (and/or Software Lead) responsibilities for complex systems
• Determine documentation requirements and produce documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities

Your Requirements:

• Bachelor in Computer Science/Information technology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineer or related areas, and advanced degree is a plus
• Experience in IT support for research and development systems, especially biopharmaceutical industry
• Working experience with at least one programming languages such as Python and Java, and database technology such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server and Oracle, and operation systems such as Linux and Windows
• Experience with IT project management, certificate in project management, CPI, or scrum is a plus
• Fluent in English and German (oral and written)
• Work effectively and independently or as a team member, act proactively with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility, and have strong communication skills with a passion for working in a virtual, international, multicultural and diversity environment
