LEGAL COUNSEL FOR MARITIME CLAIMS (M/F/D)

ABOUT US:

BOCS, Bremen Overseas Chartering and Shipping, is a family-owned shipping company based in Bremen, Germany. For more than 30 years we operate a regular liner service between Europe and West Africa. With our fleet of MPP vessels we successfully perform transports of general cargo, project and container cargoes including IMO/dangerous goods.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Law degree, preferably with a focus on maritime law
• Professional experience in claims management, ideally in the maritime industry or insurance sector
• Solid knowledge of maritime law and insurance law
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Independent and structured working style
• Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken; additional language skills are an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handling and managing maritime claims
• Legal assessment of liability and insurance issues
• Negotiating with claimants, insurers, and other stakeholders
• Drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents
• Collaborating with internal departments and external law firms
• Ensuring compliance with legal regulations and internal policies
• Supporting the development and implementation of loss prevention strategies
