Your responsibilities

• Collaboration in the BMBF research project ‘Blue2Value’; determination and further development of bioprocess engineering and biotechnological principles, upstream and downstream processes; evaluation of potential phototrophic production microorganisms (cyanobacteria) and utilisation for pigment production.
• Research; design and implementation of experiments and analyses in the field of microalgae biotechnology, use of biogenic residues and waste materials and determination of usable pigments and dyes from cyanobacterial biomass
• Standardised natural dye extraction through biochemical and physical processes and upscaling of processes
• Collaboration on fundamental cross-cutting topics and scientific communication
• Evaluation and optimisation of processes for cyanobacteria cultivation using photosynthesis measurements; testing and evaluation of potential application strains for microalgae-based dye production under ecological and climate protection criteria.

Your qualifications

• You have a university degree (university diploma, master's degree, preferably with a doctorate), which enables you to carry out physiological, biochemical and bioprocess engineering research work in the field of valuable substances and algae biotechnology largely independently and you also have
• professional experience in the fields of microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, physiology
• Experience in the field of cyanobacteria / microalgae
• Ability to work independently and scientifically
• Communication and teamwork skills

The employment contract is based on the state civil service labor agreement (TV-L). Salary is based on pay group E13 TV-L, provided the professional and personal requirements are met. Additionally, we offer a company pension plan based on the civil service labor agreement.
