Subcontractor Manager (m/f/d)

Become Subcontractor Manager in the Photonics Engineering department at SpaceTech

Due to our increased engagement in the area of laser-optical instruments and quantum technology, SpaceTech is looking for a subcontractor manager to strengthen our team in the Photonics Engineering department.

YOUR TASKS AS SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGER IN THE PHOTONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT SPACETECH

• Serve as the primary responsible and direct point of contact for the subcontractor assigned to units of a laser interferometric instrument
• Coordinate, implement, and monitor the subcontractor’s development activities
• Conduct technical assessments and, if necessary, perform shadow engineering
• Collaborate with engineers across the company as part of the payload team
• Negotiate change requests and manage contract change notices
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements regarding quality, cost, and schedule
• Report regularly to the project manager
• Organize and lead technical and project reviews

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED AS SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGER IN THE PHOTONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT SPACETECH

• Experience in development projects for space applications
• Strong understanding of lasers and electro-optical systems
• Able to work independently as well as within interdisciplinary teams
• Proven experience in project planning
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and foster a culture of inclusion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an asset
• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline
• Willingness and ability to travel within Europe on short notice
