Founding Engineer for PropTech startup

We are Sebastian Seifert, Andreas Veller, and Achim Bönsch – all graduates of the WHU Bachelor Class of 2011. After 13 successful years building the fintech company viafintech and ultimately selling it in one of Germany’s largest fintech exits for a nine-figure amount, we are now pursuing new challenges:

For one of our portfolio companies, the PropTech startup vivanta, we are now looking for a Founding Engineer who is excited to shape the technical foundation from day one and take on a key long-term role in the company.

TASKS

We’re looking for a Founding Engineer who’s excited about shaping a company from the ground up - not just writing code, but defining the technical foundation of our product and business.

You will:

• Design and implementation of end-to-end automations in areas such as accounting, invoice approval, communication, and property management – including monitoring, logging, and error handling
• Building a scalable, modular platform architecture that integrates ERP, CRM, document management, and digital owner portals. Strong focus on security, scalability, and maintainabilit
• Develop production-ready LLM and ML features (e.g., document classification, predictive maintenance, AI assistants), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment
• Closely collaborate with the founders – you decide on architecture, tools, frameworks, and set technical standards (clean code, testing, code reviews, DevOps processes)

REQUIREMENTS

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has deep experience with backend systems, infrastructure, and API design
• Thrives in early-stage environments where speed and adaptability are key
• Enjoys solving complex technical challenges with an eye toward scalability and maintainability
• Is comfortable working in-person with the founding team (not full-time remote)
• Wants to take ownership—both in equity and in decision-making

Compensation: €60–80k salary + equity (pre-seed)

Location: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Germany (on-site preferred, with flexibility)
