SENIOR CONSULTANT, RADIATION ONCOLOGY (M/W/D) - CLINICAL DEPARTMENT LEAD IN THE THURINGIA REGION

For a highly regarded hospital in the greater Thuringia area, we are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in Radiation Oncology to join our team immediately. This position offers a direct employment contract with our client, ensuring a stable and long-term professional relationship. YOUR PROFILE:

  • You hold a valid German medical license (Approbation) and have completed your specialist training in Radiation Oncology or Radiology with a focus on radiation therapy.
  • Extensive expertise in radiation oncology, including modern radiotherapy techniques such as IMRT, VMAT, brachytherapy, and stereotactic treatments.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating clinical workflows.
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and active participation in innovative patient care models.
  • Involvement in clinical research, teaching, and mentoring junior physicians is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational abilities to oversee quality management, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Empathy and excellent communication skills to foster a supportive environment for patients and staff alike.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and coordinate the radiation oncology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Oversee treatment planning, including contouring and quality assurance, while implementing state-of-the-art radiotherapy technologies and protocols.
  • Chair multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate closely with oncology, surgery, and diagnostic imaging departments.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives within the department, such as integrating treatment planning systems (TPS), PACS, and AI-supported workflows.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant and specialist physicians, facilitating their professional development and continuous education.
  • Participate in research projects, contribute to scientific publications, and represent the department at conferences.
  • Manage department resources, staff scheduling, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to hospital management.
