HEAD OF OBSTETRICS AND PERINATAL MEDICINE (SENIOR CONSULTANT) (M/W/D) IN THE GREATER THURINGIA REGION
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated senior consultant to lead the obstetrics and perinatal medicine department at a well-established hospital in the Greater Thuringia area. This full-time, permanent position offers a direct employment contract with the hospital. YOUR PROFILE
- Possession of a valid German medical license (Approbation)
- Board certification in gynecology and obstetrics (m/w/d)
- Additional qualification in perinatal medicine is highly desirable
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior consultant role within obstetrics
- Advanced expertise in obstetric ultrasound, preferably at DEGUM Level II or equivalent
- Strong commitment, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Organizational aptitude and high sense of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic and operational leadership of the obstetrics and perinatal medicine unit, including quality assurance and continuous development of clinical services
- Coordination and collaboration with related departments such as neonatology, anesthesiology, and maternal-fetal medicine
- Supervision and mentorship of junior doctors, residents, and medical students, fostering a supportive learning environment
- Oversight of clinical protocols, risk management, and adherence to national guidelines
- Active participation in hospital governance, including contribution to budgeting and resource allocation
- Monitoring key performance indicators such as cesarean section rates, neonatal outcomes, and patient satisfaction
- Leading recruitment efforts and supporting staff development initiatives
- Participation in on-call duties and rota planning to ensure 24/7 obstetric care
- Engagement in teaching and research activities to advance clinical knowledge and practice
