A highly reputed hospital in the Greater Leipzig area is seeking to hire a Director of Clinical Infection Prevention (m/w/d) immediately. This is a permanent position with a direct employment contract between you and the hospital. YOUR PROFILE:

• You hold a medical specialization (m/w/d) in hygiene, microbiology, virology, infection epidemiology, or an equivalent qualification, complemented by a completed structured curricular training in hospital hygiene.
• You bring extensive expertise and practical experience in hospital infection control and prevention.
• You demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to quality management.
• Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively convey the importance of infection prevention and hospital hygiene with conviction and enthusiasm.
• You have a keen interest in implementing evidence-based, practice-oriented infection control measures within clinical settings.
• Analytical thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative team spirit characterize your working style.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop interdisciplinary teams.
• A doctoral degree is mandatory; habilitation is considered advantageous.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You hold overarching responsibility for all infection prevention and hygiene-related affairs across all hospital departments and serve as the primary contact for all hygiene matters.
• As a recognized expert in hospital hygiene, you advise executive leadership, medical staff, and nursing personnel on infection prevention strategies and provide hands-on support, especially during construction and renovation projects.
• You lead and coordinate an interdisciplinary hygiene team comprising physicians, hygiene specialists, and disinfection staff, actively driving the continuous development of the department in line with current infection prevention, hygiene, and ecological standards.
• You establish and nurture cross-site collaborations with surrounding healthcare institutions to enhance infection control practices regionally.
• Maintain regular communication with regulatory authorities and public health offices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Participate actively in the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship program, fostering interdisciplinary cooperation to optimize antibiotic use.
• Oversee infection surveillance programs, including monitoring of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), surgical site infections, and healthcare-associated infections.
• Lead outbreak investigations and implement rapid response measures to contain infection spread.
• Organize and conduct staff training, credentialing, and continuous education programs on infection prevention.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operation.
• Contribute to hospital committees related to clinical governance, quality assurance, and facility planning.
