HEAD OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE DEPARTMENT (M/W/D) IN THE GREATER BERLIN AREA

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are inviting applications for the position of Head of Emergency Medicine Department (m/w/d) at a leading hospital in the Greater Berlin region. This senior leadership role requires overseeing the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of the emergency department to ensure outstanding patient care and efficient service delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic leadership for the emergency medicine department, balancing clinical excellence with operational efficiency and financial responsibility.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration among various clinical specialties to optimize emergency care pathways.
• Maintain and develop strong partnerships with emergency medical services and community healthcare providers.
• Lead, mentor, and develop medical staff, including supervising junior physicians and contributing to medical education.
• Manage patient flow, treatment protocols, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous development.
• Support staff welfare, including providing convenient parking and a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid medical license (Approbation) in Germany.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine and/or Intensive Care Medicine.
• Additional qualification in Clinical Acute and Emergency Medicine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and economic awareness.
• Cooperative leadership style with an emphasis on team development and social competence.
