Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (m/f/d)

PFASuiki is setting the global standard for safe, sustainable PFAS destruction. Through advanced electrochemical oxidation (ECO), we transform contaminated streams into non-hazardous outputs and help solve one of today’s major environmental challenges.

We are looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to develop and industrialize our pilot systems and commercial water treatment products. You will take hands-on responsibility for electrical integration, instrumentation, controls, control cabinets and commissioning – helping turn our technology into safe, reliable and scalable systems.

TASKS

• Specify, install and integrate sensors, cables and electrical equipment for our pilot and commercial systems

• Complete field wiring, terminations and equipment connections, and troubleshoot faults from field devices through to PLC and HMI

• Select, configure and test process instrumentation for flow, pressure, temperature, level and conductivity

• Test and troubleshoot PLC and HMI functions and support control sequences, alarms, permissives and trips

• Define requirements for control cabinets, review supplier designs and implement controlled modifications where required

• Support FAT, installation, dry and wet testing, startup and on-site commissioning

• Perform I/O checks, loop checks and functional testing and resolve faults during commissioning

• Read and update electrical schematics, P&IDs, I/O lists and related technical documentation

• Maintain controlled PLC/HMI backups, document changes and ensure accurate as-built documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering, technician, Meister, vocational or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, automation, instrumentation, mechatronics or a related field

• At least 3 years of practical industrial experience in automation, commissioning, system integration, industrial maintenance or process instrumentation

• Hands-on experience with field wiring, 24 VDC signals, 4–20 mA loops, industrial sensors, control cabinets, PLCs and HMIs

• Strong troubleshooting skills across instrumentation, wiring, cabinet hardware, PLCs, communications and HMIs

• Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, terminal plans and I/O lists

• Ability to work safely and independently on industrial electrical systems

• German Elektrofachkraft status, or eligibility for formal appointment, is preferred

• Working German for safe site work and contractor coordination, plus sufficient English for technical documentation and international suppliers

• Structured and disciplined approach to testing, change control, backups and technical documentation

Bonus:

• PLC and HMI programming experience

• Experience with EPLAN

• Functional safety, safety circuits or ATEX instrumentation experience
