About surge aero GmbH

surge aero GmbH is developing high-performance propulsion systems and UAV platforms for the European market. We are building a highly experienced engineering team focused on developing and delivering flight-ready aerospace systems.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our UAV development team and take responsibility for key elements of the aircraft's electrical architecture and power systems.

TASKS

In this role, your initial focus will include:

• Developing wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
• Performing battery sizing and power requirement calculations
• Designing and sizing power buses
• Developing and documenting the aircraft's electrical architecture
• Supporting the integration of electrical systems and components into a fixed-size airframe
• Considering operational and aircraft-level constraints throughout the design process
• Working closely with mechanical, systems, and production engineers
• Supporting the development and integration of production-ready UAV systems

REQUIREMENTS

• Professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably in aerospace, aviation, UAV/UAS, or a related field
• Experience with Lucidchart or similar diagramming/system design tools
• Experience in aircraft or aerospace design
• Strong understanding of operational constraints in aircraft/UAV systems
• Solid understanding of electrical architecture, power distribution, and battery systems
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience preferred
• Senior candidates are very welcome to apply
• Experience in UAV/UAS development, aircraft electrical systems, avionics, or aerospace systems is a strong advantage
