About us

BUYA and REI bring two distinct Japanese dining concepts to Berlin-Kreuzberg. BUYA focuses on homemade ramen and Japanese small plates, while REI combines contemporary izakaya dining with signature cocktails and selected sake. Both restaurants offer a relaxed atmosphere with a strong focus on food and hospitality.

We are looking for an experienced Shift Leader with strong organisational skills, a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellent service.

TASKS

• Prepare and cook dishes according to our recipes and quality standards.
• Organise your station and mise en place for efficient service.
• Maintain consistent flavour, presentation and portion sizes.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service teams throughout each shift.
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures, including correct storage and labelling.
• Monitor stock, minimise food waste and keep your workspace clean.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable kitchen position.
• Completed vocational training as a cook or chef is an advantage.
• Experience with Asian cuisine is a plus.
• Fluent English is essential.
• A reliable, organised approach and attention to detail.
• The ability to stay focused during busy service periods.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to support your team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
