Operations Manager DE - Region West (m/w/d)

We are looking for an Operations Manager who will take responsibility for managing and further developing operational processes in the assigned region (initially: Düsseldorf and Hanover; eventually also Mannheim, Frankfurt, and Cologne) and oversee the entire lifecycle of our 3PL partners. If you have experience in operational management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build stable partnerships, this position is the perfect fit for you.

TASKS

• Management of the entire lifecycle of 3PL partners—sourcing, onboarding, contract management, performance monitoring, scaling, and termination of the partnership.
• Performance evaluation and improvement—analysis of 3PL and courier KPIs, proposal and implementation of measures to achieve SLA targets.
• Ensuring audit readiness—implementing corrective and preventive actions, as well as maintaining and updating all relevant documents.
• Communicating with our customers, 3PL partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth operational processes.
• Management of vehicle-related processes – coordinating vehicle pickups at service centers, reporting accidents, and maintaining an up-to-date accident database.
• Supporting business case calculations and budgeting, as well as taking responsibility for the P&L of your own division – detailed knowledge of cost structures and margin drivers, supporting financial closings, and maximizing gross profit.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in logistics, retail, or comparable operational roles.
• Experience in process implementation, operational management, KPI monitoring, and audits.
• Experience working with 3PL or logistics service providers is a major advantage.
• German at the C1 level, English at the B2 level.
• Strong analytical skills and a basic understanding of the profit and loss (P&L) statement.
• Willingness to take regular and ad hoc business trips (e.g., one week to Hanover, the next week to Mannheim).
• A hands-on approach, along with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term, stable partnerships.
